Rate and Write a Review Two years after a devastating fire in 1900, the citizens of Bloomington built the Central Fire Station, which served the city until 1974. The current owners purchased the building in 1986 and enhanced the restaurant that was using the structure with woodwork, leaded glass and a copper canopy that extends over the bar. Steaks, sandwiches and seafood are the norm, but there are a few house items, such as homemade meatloaf and chicken sausage gumbo (the latter served in a bread bowl), that will put out any four-alarm hunger. If the kids tagged along, they can consult a special menu; otherwise, head for Bogie's, the nightclub where the firemen's quarters used to be. Closed Mondays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
