"You can get beer anywhere," says one satisfied customer. "I come here for the burgers." Sit at the bar at O'Sullivan's in Somerville and you immediately feel like a local, chatting it up with your neighbors and the grinning bartender. Before even glancing at the menu you already know what to order. Not only because of the tall, juicy burgers, enormous fries and heaping onion rings surrounding me, but also because the guy next to you won't stop raving about each one of them. There are a million burger varieties charted out on the menu, but of course, you can invent your own as well. Looking over to the other end of the bar, you can even spot the cooks working up your burger while you sip a pint. On a Friday evening after work, that's a tough combination to beat.

Burgers are excellent in all their juicy unsqueezed beefiness. Extra charges for tomato, onion, etc. uncool but negligible. Everytime I go we get crammed into tables where you have to constantly lean in to let staff/patrons walk by. For someone who has to commute on crowded subway trains each day, I can do without that aspect of the dining experience. If you can overlook the cramped quarters, you should at least visit this place once.

Burger is alright, I would compare it to something you get at McDonalds or Burger King, but you have to pay for the extras at Sullys. Everything is an upcharge, including re-fills on drinks. The clientele is a mostly local yahoos. The bar is really small and they pack as many people in as possible. You want a real Burger go to Charlies in Harvard Square.

took my daughter there for our first time burgers. We read the reviews online, do they know someone? It was a burger, not great. It was a big burger with no flavor and a lot of fat running out of it. I was very disapointed with the flavor of the hamburg too. Mr. Bartley doesn't have anything to worry about. They charge for everything, like, lettuce tommato, onions, and even if you want to substitute half fries for onion rings, which the waiter asked us, but didnt mention it would cost us. 2 burgers 1 beer and 1 soda cost me close to $40 dollars including tip. OUCH!!! I would not go back again.

I grew up in Somerville and i must say this is the best burger in town. There are so many differant burgers on the menu you never get tired of just the plain ole' burger. And if by chance you should get tired of burgers the tips are great too.
