Rate and Write a Review Park Plaza Hotel: While it is condemned to sit in the shadow (literally) of its neighboring hotel, The Four Seasons, the Park Plaza Hotel is a charming place to spend a Boston visit. The swan theme prevails throughout the hotel and calls attention to the proximity of those most famous of swans a short block away in the Boston Public Gardens. If it's all about location, location, location, The Park Plaza Hotel is sitting on a real estate goldmine. Within a stone's throw from tony Newbury Street, The Boston Commons, The Theater District and all manners of public transportation, the hotel offers equal convenience for the business and pleasure traveler. The Park Plaza is a mere ten blocks from the Hynes Convention Center but also boasts impressive meeting space itself. The hotel has second floor conference space and often hosts conventions of its own in a next-door castle- shaped building (complete with its own drawbridge) that looks as if it should be home to a Medieval Times rather than a slew of Boston wedding receptions. The lobby is borderline over-the-top with red velvet and an indoor caf setup near the reception area. Until recently, the hotel could claim its very own Legal Sea Foods and, although it has since moved across the street, there are plenty of options for the sweet-toothed. Montilio's Bakery, annually voted Boston's Best, sits just off the lobby while an Au Bon Pain, a Ben and Jerry's and world-class dessert bar, Finale, are contained within the building. Rooms are suitably nice with modern amenities and a choice of double beds or a king sized bed. while much of its clientele is comprised of business travelers, it's the vacationer who will truly appreciate the relaxed yet posh atmosphere and the throwback to the days of the grand hotel. -- Jennifer Malone
