Built in the mid-1920s, this eight-story brick building was originally a Coast Guard barracks. Recently renovated, the privately owned 56-room hotel has a European feel, small and comfortable. The hotel has a gay-friendly policy and is popular among Europeans. Just outside Copley Square at the corner of Berkeley and Chandler Streets, it provides a daily continental breakfast free of charge. Baths are private. Rates run from $89 for single occupancy to $109 for double occupancy until April 1, when they will increase to $135/$145 per night.
