The recently opened (August, 1999) Wyndham Boston in Boston's financial district resides within the newly restored Batterymarch Building, Boston's first Art Deco skyscraper, and is only a few blocks away from Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, the Waterfront, and Post Office Square. The 14-story hotel offers a full range of services for business travelers and has 362 guestrooms with 66 oversized suites, a free fitness center, and the Caliterra Restaurant, serving a blend of Californian and Italian cuisine. The exterior of the building uses thirty different shades of brick starting with dark brown at the base and getting lighter towards the top of the building's three towers. Even the mortar colors were specially mixed to blend with the gradations of brick colors. All rooms have dual line phones with dataport, voice mail, mini bars, cable TV, climate control, morning paper and Bath & Body Works toiletries. There's a business center offering computers, copy machines, printers and fax machines. Rental computers and Internet connection cables are also available. by George Hobica
