Located on the same brick walk as Faneuil Hall and a stone's throw from State Street, Houston's is a classic upscale choice for tourists and convenient to Boston's business crowd. In fact, it's been deemed the greatest post-work party spot by the Phantom Gourmet with its four-sided bar and built-in flat screen TVs. The main dining area is a perfect spot after a busy day with cozy red leather booths and club lighting, which adds an element of sophistication and privacy. In summer though, it's the seats on the outdoor patio that are most coveted for ocean breezes, serious people watching, and the occasional live jazz band. While location may be everything, Houston's steak and seafood entrees is what keeps many returning, including some meal-worthy salads. Everything is prepared from scratch daily. Don't miss the clam chowder -- it's been a winner many times over at Boston Harborfest's annual Chowderfest.

Great but get ready to stop at the ATM or pull out the Gold AmEx. The Thai Steak & Noodles is great ... everyone in our group loved the food. The waitstaff can't do enough for you. SMILE SMILE SMILE they do everything with a SMILE. Would go again and again ... would love to see one open up in CenterCity Philadelphia ... like on the top floor of one of the office buildings ...something with a view, ... sure to line them up at the door. DRINKS could be cheaper or better yet for the price they should be stronger or bigger. ... the bar tab was 33% of the final bill ... that should tell you something.

Fresh, quality ingredients!

I was so surprised when I went to Houston's in Boston for the first time. This restaurant has a creative menu with such fresh and high quality ingredients! The salads are especially delicious; the portions are perfect (neither ridiculously huge nor too small) and the brownie dessert is amazing. The service was attentive without being overbearing.You would never know this restaurant was a chain; I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner!
