Towering 16 stories over the Charles River, this hotel -- which strongly resembles a staircase from afar -- offers scenic views from every floor and facilitates the needs of travelers, partygoers and diners alike. With a design unlike any other Hyatt around, this one is home to nearly 500 rooms (many with balconies) and 22 meeting rooms (all featuring sound, music and special lighting effects). Several stately function rooms are also available for rent, including the 14th floor's Empress room (a 3,262-square-foot, multilevel function space with a panoramic view of the Boston skyline) and the Riverside Pavilion (a three-season, 2,800-square-foot white tent with French doors, windows and a patio overlooking the river). -- Brian McKennaTIP: If you go to the Hyatt, don't forget to visit Spinnaker Italia -- one of Greater Boston's only revolving rooftop restaurants.
