Ipswich Sports Bar & Grill   

I just had dinner there last night (9/1/08), not expecting much, as the atmosphere isnt anything flashy. I have been there alot for drinks late night but never the food. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy one of the last evenings of summer. Everything I ordered was delicious. The clam chowder was creamy and fresh, topped off with chives and chive oil for a uniquely balanced finish. My main course was the beer battered fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the batter was soooo good and crispy. the fries are hand cut potato fries, sort of like the fries at in-n-out burger (my personal favorite), but just a bit thicker, i couldnt get enough. I got a look at alot of other main courses and appetizers and overall i would say the food is hidden gem quality, very impressive. Top it all off with a great selection of beers and very friendly service (it was a slow night so we were served by the bartender, Paul) and you have a recipe for a very satisfying night out in ipswich!
