In ShortMost everything on the rustic menu is cooked in a burning brick oven, as the restaurant's name implies (antico forno means "old oven"). The diminutive dining room hosts a mix of loyal locals and tourists, and can get quite noisy when full. Thin-crust pizzas (toppings include homemade sausage, imported buffalo mozzarella and sautéed shrimp) and baked pasta dishes emerge from the oven piping hot. Fresh salads, wood-grilled seafood and homemade pastas round out the menu.

I have been to anrico forno several times and have been served wonderful food by a very friendly staff. My girlfriend and I both love it and make every effort to go when we feel like eating out. We have had just about every antipasto they have and most of pizza offered. The caprese L'insalata is simple but the freshness of the ingredients really brings out the essense of italian food that I grew up with; simple, yet flavourful. The pizza is thin and comes with a perfectly crisp crust. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Antico Forno is one of the best resturants in the North End and should be paid a visit by anyone interested in good italian food.
