This North End landmark has been serving the Hub for over 70 years. The entryway is plastered with photos of Boston luminaries past and present. Everyone at Cantina Italiana, though, is treated like royalty, with welcoming handshakes and smiles. The menu features a selection of Italian favorites and is augmented by several daily specials. Appetizers include crostini topped with shrimp and vegetables and fried calamari. Entrees include several pasta offerings, as well as grilled veal chop with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and mushrooms, and lobster fra diavolo. Unlike many North End restaurants, Cantina Italiana welcomes you to stay for dessert with an assortment of espresso drinks and desserts like tiramisu and tartufo (an Italian ice cream delight). -- K.F. our family spent our 50th anniversery at this restaurant. there was 16 of us there and we were treated like royalty. where else in boston could we go with children and be treated this way. we make it a point to go to this restaurant at least twice a year
