In ShortWith its carved plaster ceiling, baroque Edwardian woodwork and deep-red draperies, the Oak Room is as gorgeous as it ever was. Diners may find themselves seated next to a youthful couple and their dressed-up, well-behaved kids out celebrating a birthday--or the same kids 20 years later applauding Mom and Dad's anniversary. The menu relies on perfectly grilled, massive slabs of fish and meat, as well as appetizer classics like oysters Rockefeller and clams casino.

The cream always raises to the top

I have been to all the top steak houses in Boston, the Oak Room is one of the cleanest I've been into, the staff (Pasqualie) is the finest, he catered to all our needs, the food was out of this world. The other steak houses should take lessons from the oak room.

I have lived in and around Boston for more than 30 years and have dined in some of the finest restaurants both domestic and foreign. The Oak Room ranks among the finest for food quality, service, and ambience. I recommend it without hesitation.

Snob Appeal at its Best

Take a great room with great service & combine it with the Outback steakhouse quality & you have the oak room. Room temp sides for 8 people were all sent back Potato sides were also med warm ceasar salads were doused with bottle type dressing that was consistancy of a thick paste. Take it from someone who has a peter Luger creedit card so I do know what a great steak house is Stick with a grill 23 or Abe & Louies The ambiance is less but the food & truly great
