Rate and Write a Review Rosebud Diner is considered an icon of the Boston area. Opened in the '40s, the 1947 Worcester Semi-Streamliner has seen many changes, but a 1995 renovation that made it into today's sleek silver-and-black bar (with neon-pink accents, no less) that has been a major part of the place's success. You can't help but feel cool as you slide into one of the booths or sidle up to one of the barstools that run the length of the dining car. Locals and regulars can be found here any time of day, discussing current events with the waitresses and waiters, while the place is jam-packed on the weekend by brunchers from all over. The menu offers typical diner food accentuated with more sophisticated fare like swordfish and calamari. If you're coming for weekend brunch, come early or bring a coat, as you'll probably have to wait outside until your booth (or stool) is ready. One sip of Rosebud's famous Bloody Marys, though, and the hardship will be forgotten as you experience Somerville's coolest member of the National Register of Historic Places.
