Victoria Bove and her nine children opened their restaurant on Pearl Street in December of 1941. Today this downtown landmark is still serving the same generous portions of their authentic Italian cuisine. Appetizers include the traditional antipasto, black olives and provolone along with American favorites like french fries and fried clams. The homemade minestrone soup is a course you won't want to miss. Once your palate has been fully primed, dine on such specialties as lasagna (a la Bove), mostaccioli with clam sauce and chicken cacciatore. Or just have a good old plate of spaghetti and meatballs. For those not in the mood for pasta, Bove's also offers steak, chops, fish and fried clams. Eat in the dining room "just a stone's throw" from Lake Champlain, or, if that's not close enough for you, go the take-out route, strip to your Skivvies, and walk west until the ravioli start to get soggy.

Boves has been a Burlinton tradition for as long as I remember. (I'm 45) Great food, low prices and plenty of garlic
