As a regular, I've never been disappointed. The food is good, the menu is balanced, the staff friendly and does a good job, and the prices are very reasonable. Back deck is great in the summer for lunch, dinner or music, and the bar has a good selection on beers, wine and spirits.
Very good
Halvorson's is a great place to go in Burlington if you're in the mood for some good, basic, American food, drinks, and fun music. The owners were from California so many of their dishes are mexican inspired, hence the use of beans and avacados in many of their dishes. If you're in the mood for a burger, I recommend the Baily Melt (named after Fred Bailey- a regular) or their California Pasta toss is amazing also. There are many vegetarian friendly dishes on the menu as well. Bartenders are friendly and have been there for many years...a large amount of the clientele are regulars. If you don't go there expecting a fancy, five-star restaurant...just good food and friendly people, you will be very impressed.
dinner out with family....
Me and some family members went to your restaurant on friday the 28th of november after the lighting of church street and i must say each of our meals that came with fries were stone cold. the burgers were nice and warm. a chicken dish that was ordered was also cold. the service was very slow. one in our party was still eating and the plates were taken away. amazing huh. i was surprised at the meal cause i was there a few years back with some friends and the meal was great so i though i would share with my family. wrong choice i guess. it really wasn't all that busy in there either. oh well not much we can do about it now, except to not recommend it to others. Even a grilled cheese sandwhich was cold. so i guess the food had been sitting around to long before getting picked up and served...YUP!!
