The gridiron post that stands outside of this establishment lets you know that you've arrived at the right place. The Iron Post is a bar and music venue that occupies the site formerly known as Club Palamino. The Old World charm of the newly revamped interior gives the bar a homey, upscale feel, which has made it a popular watering hole for an eclectic mix of patrons that includes college students, local residents and young professionals. Take a seat in the bar if you'd like to check out the live music acts that are scheduled to perform three to five times a week. During its first three months of operation, the Iron Post has showcased a broad range of music that includes rock, jazz, blues, traditional Irish, folk and bluegrass (see Web site for schedule). Music lovers will also delight in the state-of-the-art sound system. The Post offers an impressive selection of beers and wines; food options are currently limited to traditional bar fare (i.e., popcorn and pretzels), but the bar plans on expanding its menu in the near future. -- Jeanne Park
