It started 7o years ago as a barbershop and ice cream parlor. Over the years it changed management but stayed within the ownership of Bert Wurthman. I worked there under 4 different managers and was and still is a local staple for the "island folk" East of the Cooper River from Charleston, SC.

This IS Charleston's best kept secret! On Friday nights only, you can stuff yourself with the FRESHEST flounder and/or shrimp this town has to offer! Along with delicious homemade coleslaw and yummy French fries, enjoy your dinner with an ice-cold beer and wait for the live music to begin!! I HIGHLY recommend Bert's... a local's favorite!!
