Belk   

Every time I've ever gone into Belk at Towne Center in Mt. Pleas, I nearly have a panic attack before my shopping is complete due to the closterphobic-type inventory everywhere, and selection and unprofessional volume of music blaring. And in those tight spaces, it's a real joke to offer wheeled baskets at the entrances. Maneuvering those, even in the aisles, is more trouble than they're worth. Makes people only want to purchase in very small, in-my-arms size quantities, and forget filling up a basket. There's a huge loss in revenue per year solely based on space issues creating uncomfortable shopping conditions. Completed renovations added some room, but it doesn't appear that it has been utilized effectively to make the store feel more spacious. I touch other racks and shelving with my arms and back end consistently while seraching for merchandise. How distracting. And the dressing rooms are always atrocious with clothes strewn everwhere, the lighting in them is horrible (way-big reason for returns - you can't properly see colors, shapes or details until you get home!), not enough hooks available, the temperature is way too hot, the music stepping between departments is obnoxiously blaring......Ugh! Shopping at Belk is a nerve-racking, ill experience. With so much competition and exemplary venues in a prime location, shame on Belk for not doing better.
