Rate and Write a Review Founded in 1972, by brothers Malcolm and James Burgis, The Windjammer is either a volleyball court that doubles as a bar, or a bar that doubles as a volleyball court, depending on who you ask. Amateur tournaments are held during the summer months, and live local acts play nearly every night of the year. Come on the right night and you might catch Hootie and the Blowfish frontman (and Charleston native) Darius Rucker tossing back a few with some buddies. The clubs nine TV screens are usually tuned to whichever sport is in season, but, really, whos going to watch TV with everything else going on. (Dan Avery)

WILL NEVER GO BACK
Some friends and I went there last summer and the bartenders all but ignored us. One ever short changed one of my friends. When we confronted him he said he gave the correct change. After talking to him he admitted he short changed him. Count your change if you go there.
Good Hangout spot
My dad is a Charelston native and everytime we go back there we go by the Windjammer for a hamburger and fries. The best hangout spot in town.
