The leaves may be brown and the sky gray, but the sun always seems to be shining at California Dreaming, where you can gaze out onto Charleston Harbor from virtually any table in the restaurant. The view is so spectacular that tourists often take snapshots of the scene from the panoramic floor-to-ceiling window. But not even that could distract you from the food here. Everything on the varied contemporary menu is delicious, from the steaks (made with aged USDA choice beef) to their famous salads. Only one problem: Getting seated on the weekends can be a nightmare, so call far in advance and make a reservation.
