Rate and Write a Review Tired of the Uptown leather-pants-and-martinis scene? Then slip on jeans and a T-shirt and enjoy the laid-back, brick-interior Cajun vibe of Dixie's, one of the Queen City's favorite after-work watering holes. In general, the Dixie's crowd tends to be more casual, more mature and more sober than the typical Uptown scene. Forget about fancy liqueurs -- belly up to one of the two bars and suck down a few $1.50 Miller pints, $1 Rolling Rocks or $2.50 Coronas at various nightly specials. Hungry? Go for above-average Cajun fare such as salt 'n' pepper catfish tenders, shrimp po'boys, jambalaya, crawfish ettouffee or the New Orleans-style 'mighty fine' gumbo. Sports fans, take note: Steelers games are always on the tube here during football season. Dixie's also offers an outside patio and some of the best seasonal entertainment in town, including the annual Halloween Grave Digger's Ball, a bash which in 2003 attracted Dave Attell of the Comedy Channel's 'Insomniac.'
