Looking for a good meal in a chill milieu? Slide into a comfy booth at the Village Tavern, where dark wood and dim lighting make for a cozy pub-like experience. Of course, you could also choose to savor some alfresco dining on the outdoor patio. Start with the hot crab dip served with buttery garlic bread, or Thai chicken skewers with Hoisin sauce. Tavern specialties include the slow-roasted maple-cured pork chop topped with apple chutney and served with garlic mashed potatoes, and marinated flank steak with garlic soy sauce and sauteed veggies. Vegetarians can order wood-oven pizzas with spinach or capellini vegetarian, a portabella mushroom cap with pasta and sun-dried tomato pesto. Desserts include chocolate torte drizzled with chocolate sauce and key lime pie with premises-made graham cracker crust. An award-winning wine list is also available. The Sunday brunch menu features omelets with your choice of fillings including spinach, brie, ham and fresh salsa -- or maybe you'd prefer some Belgian waffles with fruit and whipped cream. A special children's menu, for kids 12 and under, includes chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and linguini with parmesan cheese sauce.

Filet Mignon
By lbody4 on 01/22/2005
I have eaten at the Capital Grille, Manzetti's and many other other fine Steak houses in Charlotte and the Filet Mignon served at the Village Tavern blows the rest away!! Also, their garlic mash potatoes are the best I have ever eaten!! Their clam chowder, french onion soup, hamburgers, chicken pesto, vegtables etc... are also excellent. It's the can't miss restaurant!! They consistently have great food, great prices, a great atmosphere and great service. Overall my favorite Restaurant in Charlotte!!!!!!!

The friendliest servers and bartenders in the area. Excellent pasta and pizza. The wine list could be better. The crowd there is usually young professional and it has a warm atmosphere. Great spot for fun or romantic get together.

We were at the Village Tavern twice in the last several months. We had a very nice dining experience both times. The food was very good and the service was very prompt. Bloody Mary s were not the best... the wrong mix. The atmosphere & decor was very warm & quite enjoyable. It would seem that a local crowd frequents this establishment which says something about its ambience and warmth. I would choose this as a good place to go at anytime for lunch or dinner.
