The Scene Upscale steakhouses are all the rage in this banker's town. Places like Morton's, Sullivan's and Capital Grille stay packed every night, serving up huge cuts of beef and prodigious amounts of alcohol in a men's-club setting. If you want a real meal, though, make yourself a reservation at the Beef & Bottle. The Food If ever the word fabulous could be applied to food, it could be applied to B&B's oysters Rockefeller. Any further description would only point out the inadequacy of the English language when it comes to expressing bliss. The steaks aren't bad either, generously cut and cooked right, without that trendy seared outside. Ignore your cholesterol numbers for one night and give this subdued, sophisticated place a try.

beef and bottle
By JoysIncognito on 07/25/2008
before i was married i brought my fiancee, who was from rochester ny, to beef & bottle. he was overwhemed with the lobster, wine, server and the place. it is a restaurant of old bygone days and a breath of fresh air in a world of chains and over priced places. i will be bringing him back, next week, hirst trip for us since we married, he will be thrilled when he finds that is where i am taking him.

B & B plays in the "Big Boys" league
By SilentL on 06/11/2008
I'm from Rochester, NY but my daughter Kim, her husband Brent and my grandson Quentin have lived in Charlotte for almost 7 years. I am retired from an executive advertising agency position which required travel to more than a few locales that boasted great steak houses and a reputation for fine quisine, and I tried quite a few of them. However, when I visit Charlotte, I always suggest (request?) that we dine at B & B. The food and atmosphere, plus the general ambience without pretention, have never disappointed. Charlotte residents - rejoice in the B & B.

The link to the Ranch House sends the reader directly to the Beef and Bottle site. (B&B is a great place to dine, by the way). While the steaks are top notch at the Ranch House, you havent lived until you try their shrimp cocktail and have been waited on by some of the family or staff that have been at the restaurant since the doors opened (cant get that at any of the chain places!!!).
