It's immediately clear from the sign boldly asking 'GOT MEN?' that this landmark of Charlotte's gay culture isn't exactly the Ritz. Located next to an adult bookstore, the slightly seedy club caters to those seeking the cheap thrill of a lap dance by a well-built young man. Bring cash for the dancers' tips and for the rather steeply priced drinks served at the U-shaped bar. The multicolored stage lights highlight the abs of the twentysomething dancers but do little to illuminate the sticky floor or eclectic clientele. Older patrons populate the place in the early part of the evening and on weeknights, while a younger crowd drops in later and on weekends. Chasers is not a high-energy dance venue like Velocity or Club Myxx (though on weekends crowds can be thick) but more of a nightcap spot. Visitors top off an evening of partying with a cig, a beer, and an exotic dance or two.
