There's karaoke, and then there's monster karaoke, the ultimate cult-following music blast. Morehead's is packed every Wednesday night from 9-11PM (and beyond) for what the place calls 'Kamikaze Karaoke.' The rules are wacky, but gentle. They pick the tune and the in-your-face antic to be performed along with it. You get a prize just for showing up and singing. Their motto: 'sing your (caboose) off for cool prizes.' Non-singers dig the Morehead Street Tavern for its funky atmosphere, plain good food and big bar specials. The neighborhood feel draws regulars for karaoke and beyond-- juicy burgers for lunch and dinner, and a super Sunday brunch with wicked Bloody Marys.
