The SceneThis South End gem is composed of mellow surroundings, including a high-ceilinged dining area filled with a mixture of accessories. The lounge/bar offers cozy seating in the way of overstuffed sofas and chairs, and an inviting patio provides a view of the city's skyline. Servers are professional though not formal. The FoodEclectic American cuisine and a famously popular Sunday brunch have created an institution. The menu changes twice annually; desserts vary weekly. Baked brie, a deliciously sweet and fruity combination highlighted by an almond and bourbon topping makes for a decadent starter, while the exotic salad with arugula, pepper-coated goat cheese, honey-lavender dressing, toasted pumpkin seeds and sweet potato frites is a spectacular marriage of contrasts. The grouper, overpowered by a heavy lobster cream sauce, is less successful. Better is the sauteed organic pork chop--tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. The restaurant's signature creme brulee is a sweet, silky creation.

Great place for cocktails & appetizers
By JJ351964 on 04/10/2009
Great place for Sunday Brunch, as well as cocktails and appetizers after work. I had the best tasting scallop (featured appetizer) one evening, I wished it was a regular item on the menu. Best scones, you cannot have just one! A seat on the deck will make your visit even more relaxing.

Still Best Scones
By UU86 on 05/31/2008
They remodeled and took away the unique charm and eclectic feel that made it fun to bring so many of my visiting guests to - now it's just another restaurant. Still the best scones in the whole world - I miss Oscar!

Stick to Sundays . . .
By wonderfulwilson on 04/13/2006
The atmosphere is fun especially when enjoying appetizers outside on the deck. The dinner food however is average at best. It's not bad, but you can do a lot better for the same price. The Sunday brunch is definitely worth going for if for no other reason than the scones. Go for Sundays and elsewhere for dinner.
