Tavern On the Tracks   

This is one of the rare places in Charlotte that you can get great, fresh food in a comfortable atmosphere. It is the only place that serves haddock and their fish fry is the best. Almost everything on the menu is good, and it is almost all "homemade." Best wings, fish and beef on weck in town. Dan used to live in Buffalo, so he brought these staples in along with Labatt Blue. It's a good place to watch many of the local athletes too as their tabs are discounted here (not that they can't afford it). The Panthers, Bobcats, and Checkers are always in here. They recently opened Town Tavern at Fort Mill and the food is identical. I highly recommend either place, but stay out of Tavern on the Tracks during Bills or Panthers games. Way too crowded.

Visited this place 3 or 4 times in the past several months. These are real down to earth solid guys that run this restaurant. I've never been disappointed. The food has always been great, both lunches and dinners. The service was more than friendly. The whole atmosphere leaves you feeling comfortable, part of the family, and hesitating to leave. If you haven't been to Tavern On The Tracks, try it... and ask for Dan... he's a heck of a guy.
