Though not generally thought of as among the city's better-known restaurants, Villa Antonio has been growing a South Boulevard fan base for over 15 years. Known for its off-kilter combination of serious elegance (an experienced wait-staff in formal wear) with odd touches of fun-loving silliness (the loud AOOGA-AOOGA horn that goes off to announce the next open table), Villa Antonio offers Northern Italian cuisine with cozy class. Dark wood accents glow in the candlelight of a dining area that's both festive and romantic, offering fresh flowers and a strolling guitarist who serenades the dining area. The Villa's massive dessert case is laden with any number of knockout sweets, including a tiramisu (served in a goblet) that's been generously spiked with chocolate chips. Don't come here if you're dining on a budget -- save a trip to the Villa for a romantic, intimate evening when you're ready for a $25 entree.

great place to dance!

I went out with some friends just planning on a few drinks at their fab bar! And ended up dancing the night away. The pianist was fantastic and really worked the crowd. I didn't eat, but if the food is a good as the nightlife, then I am sure I wouldn't be disappointed. Emily

I think all of the reviews, with the exception of a few, speak for themselves. Ignore any reviews that rate this place less than 4 stars...those people are obviously pompous snobs who like to complain and really would not be content anywhere. Villa Antonia is spectacular and Antonio himself is the greatest restauranteur in the business.

I recently tried Villa Antonio Ballantyne and had a fantastic evening. The staff was friendly and the food was superb. My family and I will definitly be eating here often.

As a hotel concierge at one of Charlotte's most luxurious hotels, I can honestly say that without a doubt I get the most negative comments from Villa Antonio then any other restaurant in Charlotte. I have heard stories of guests leaving a jacket on their chair to visit the restroom and have it gone when they return. This could certainly happen at any other restaurant but then having management laugh in their face when told of their situation. Antonio should be embarrassed at this shame of a dining establishment.
