The Biltmore Grill occupies one of the prime pieces of nightspot real estate in town: a big old house with an expansive outdoor patio on Elliewood Avenue near the Corner. The building started out as a boarding house for women visiting their beaux at UVA and has undergone many incarnations over the years. Different generations of Wahoos will recall this bar under different names, but the memories are always fond ones. The Biltmore today is still rocking. On weekend nights, throngs of students crowd its pleasant vine-covered patio to eat and drink. A covered side porch was recently added for additional seating, along with a Florida room out back that has its own bar. Inside, theres lots of rough-hewn wood, stained-glass light fixtures and a big stone fireplace. You can also wander up the narrow staircase and hang out at the upstairs bar and dining area on the second floor. Kim Mattingly

Highly Reccomend

If you are looking for an affordable meal with great service, check out the Biltmore Grill. They have a wide selection to choose from on their menu. Items range from huge salads to 1/2 lb burgers, delicious pasta dishes, and great sandwiches. The serving sizes are more than enough, so be sure to save room for their equally large desserts. I personally reccomend the Grasshopper pie!
