Pops is a very good lounge (particularly for couples or groups), there are two places to hear music within the establishment, and I only frequent the front bar part. There the sitelines are great, the sound is good and the champagne and wine selections are very good. There is typically only a modest crowd there with nicely spaced tables and it one of the few places where one can really relax around a table and watch live music. The crowd is generally affluent, being drawn from the surrounding north shore communities and service at the tables is very good. The music however is catch as catch can. I would say that less than half the time the band would be considered good, but I have seen some very good bands there. The other times, well...... The cover charge is modest usually running $5-6 so I guess one shouldnt expect there to always be great music, and even the lesser bands can still provide that entertaiment that only live music can give. All in all a very good place to go.
