Keegan's Pub   

We all know the story. You've seen one Irish pub, then you've basically seen them all. There aren't many differences. Sometimes you can't even say the clientele varies, and you're convinced you recognize people in Irish pubs all over the city. Keegan's pub may not have anything too distinct: the framed Guinness mirrors, live Irish music and more stouts than you can count. But, whether you find this theme comforting or overdone (especially in Chicago) it works. This is a bar mainstays are made of. Locals fill bar stools on weeknights and wives will even call looking for them. The weekends find it hopping with patrons and lots of drinking. Live Irish music is played on Thursday nights. But if you happen upon it on the weekends, there is an eclectic jukebox with the likes of Christie Moore and other Irish folk singers as well as rock favorites. --Tara Bukow
