After more than six years, this decadent Division Street lounge gets a makeover. The Leg Room, which gained notoriety in the last 1990s when a waitress received a $10,000 tip, remains one of the classiest haunts in the area. To keep pace with area newcomers Elm Street Lounge, Domaine and Syn, ALA Carte Entertainment (Excalibur, White Star Lounge, Magnum's) spiffed up Leg Room's decor. From a rebuilt, elevated VIP area to plasma screen monitors, they're moving in the right direction. Regulars will also appreciate the new wall art, sophisticated lighting and sound systems. As always, there's plenty of action if you're single. Bartenders mix up a variety of specialty martinis and cocktails, and for those who have the munchies, you can get your fix on too. Buffalo wings, chicken tenders and sandwiches are what most patrons order if they're looking for something to nibble on. DJs spin Top 40 and dance anthems Thursday through Sunday, and if you don't get there early, expect to wait in a long line outside. Sunday continues to draw a large number of restaurant and club industry people, who get half off on drinks and food.

Worst party experience
By lisa83msu on 11/12/2007
We arranged my bachelorette party here through a party planning service and were supposed to have a "VIP package" at Leg Room. When we walked in we were "greeted" by Tony who informed us he would waive our cover "for now" (even though this was included in our package) and then directed us to our table. We had a party of 10 but the area we were directed to only seated about 7. When we attempted to pull some chairs over Tony came over and told us that our package "just" included cover and champagne and that we could pull the chair over but they had a party of 40 coming in soon and they would probably have to take the chair away from us when this party arrived. (We had pre-arranged reservations through the party planning service.) When Tony brought over the champagne one of our glasses had a very obvious lipstick mark on it so two of the girls had to share a glass and as he was popping the cork he thought it was necessary to tell us we could pour it ourselves. Both Tony and our waitress spoke to us in rude tones and seemed determined to get rid of us- and they succeeded. As I looked around I saw that for the most part the bar was empty with the exception of a few clusters of people here and there and a birthday party of 5 next to us. This party of 40 never showed up, at least not during the time we were there. It is no surprise to me that Leg Room was practically empty while the surrounding bars we visited were packed. The staff of Leg Room should seriously consider getting jobs at Ed Debevic's.

The bartenders and staff

The bartenders and other staff is what makes this place so great, to watch them work is like watching an artist. They are so good and fast, you can't believe it. It is truly something that they have turned into an art. The place may be busy, but don't let it fool you, they know their customers and what they want, and how to treat them. The place is class.

The Leg Room is so cool, and chill. I felt like VIP in there. The service was cool, the DJ played what I wanted to hear, and drinks were off the hook. The employees cater to you. I guess cause we were always spending money!!
