Mother's Night Club Original   

A glance around the Original Mother's reveals all the typical trimmings of a singles spot: a smoky, fog-filled dance floor set to a soundtrack of top 40 hip-hop; ample drunken karaoke opportunities in the main room; and, of course, flocks of twentysomethings on the prowl. Whether you prefer to bump 'n' grind on the dance floor or to just chill at the bar, you probably won't be free from ogling eyes on the outskirts. Located in the heart of the Division Street action, Mother's, as the place is affectionately known, won't win any points for originality. Still, in a setting that defines ''meat market,'' the bar delivers. What to expect? Weeknight drink specials and theme nights like ''Thong Contest Thursdays'' draw a post-collegiate crowd looking to have a good time and hook up -- but not necessarily in that order.
