Maybe this latest River North entry will break the curse that's plagued this space for more than 10 years. Ontourage fills the void left by Dennis Rodman's Illusions (two years), Inta's (one year) and Johnny Vegas' Mystique (almost two years). The two-level club, down the street from White Star Lounge and the much-ballyhooed Y lounge, arrives at a time when clubgoers are becoming disillusioned with local nightlife options. Here, the owner maintains, patrons will not be subjected to outrageous cover charges (only $10 on weekends) and drink prices (though bottle service is recommended to get VIP seating). Also, he says, all that line nonsense is frowned upon. Instead, Ontourage offers customers a comforting place to play, whether they're coming to chill out in the upstairs lounge or work it out on the dance floor. Music gets busy here; DJs (all local, up-and-coming talent) spin club anthems and hip-hop. The crowd is typical of the area on the weekends: hip-hop boys cleaned up, suburbanites out on the town and curious tourists, who've most likely stumbled upon the place.
