Spin Night Club   

One thing's for sure: Nobody can say that Spin doesn't 'clean' up. Every Friday this energetic gay dance club features the 'Shower Contest,' in which daring contestants perform--scantily clad--underneath blasts of water, dancing to the beat of pulsating music. Though that's probably one of the more legendary facets of Spin, there's much more to this dance club than Friday nights. A not-so-quiet lounge, pool tables and wacky nights (such as karaoke Tuesdays and $1 drink Wednesdays) keep customers coming back to this Boystown bar. Large-screen televisions are another attraction, showcasing the latest music videos. DJs and VJs provide solid entertainment, keeping the crowds dancing to club remixes, progressive house and trance. During Pride Weekend (last weekend of June) and Northhalsted Market Days (first weekend of August), Spin serves as party headquarters for participants and revelers. Though it attracts mostly young and trendy men, the club gets its share of lesbians, straight folks, and those who are in between.
