Touting itself as one of the nation's first "boutique" hotels, the Tremont is a charming little place with antique furnishings and modest amenities by Gold Coast standards. The rooms are somewhat small and have a quaint, apartment-style feel. Meeting space is limited to 5,000 square feet, while the health club consists of a handful of cardio machines. Since the hotel is a few blocks from Lake Michigan, you won't be privy to a lake view, but some of the rooms offer pleasant views of downtown. The location is perfect for shopping on the Magnificent Mile, and you'll most likely be paying a more reasonable rate than at other nearby lodgings. The Tremont also offers apartments for longer stays in the "Tremont House" next to the hotel. Connected on the other side is Iron Mike's Grill, owned by the coaching legend himself.
