Rate and Write a Review The Wild Hare is an oasis amidst the sports bar heavyweights on the North Clark corridor, a place where dreadlocks and tam hats replace the ubiquitous baseball cap. However, the standout qualities of this joint go way beyond headgear. The Hare clocks in as one of the most notable reggae venues in Chicago, let alone the Midwest. Billing itself as the "Reggae Capital of America," it's a veritable stomping ground for world beat, ragga and dancehall artists around the globe. From homegrown talent like Aswah Greggori and club founder/performer Zeleke to international stars like Burning Spear and Pato Banton, live reggae acts grace the elevated stage 7 nights a week. However, the main attraction on any given night could be the moves on the dim, packed dance floor: The friendly, energetic crowd is brimming of regulars that know how to get down. Tuesdays and Thursdays are smoke-free nights.
