Rate and Write a Review Business partners Donnie Kruse and Jack Binyon (Melvin B's, Stanley's Kitchen and Tap) try their luck with River North's first gastropub. Kruse is calling their creation the ''Anglo version of a French brasserie,'' as the atmosphere aims to be relaxed without being overly casual. The food takes bar fare to the next level, but you won't have to empty your wallet to enjoy items from the eclectic menu. Options such as Binyon's famous turtle soup, fried risotto balls stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella, beef empanadas with chimichurri sauce, jerk chicken wings with pineapple salsa and pan-fried rainbow trout with bacon and sage are all under $16. The partners are also banking on their beers, which they believe are some of the best brews from Belgium, Australia and England. BB's space, which flaunts a bit of flash with deep crimson and antique mirrors, is divided into a few areas: a super-casual pub room, a lounge featuring cushy booths and the main dining room that will also be used for private dining. Sidewalk seating is for 100 diners.
