Bob San continues to hold its own in a neighborhood obsessed with sushi and Asian-influenced food. Maybe it's because owner Bob Bee (former partner of Lincoln Park hot spot Sai Cafe and owner of River North's ultra-chic Sushi Naniwa) injected the same winning ingredients he put forth in his other projects. Or maybe it's just simply that the sushi and scene are spectacular. Whatever the case, Bob San shows no sign of slowing down as the area's young professionals and eclectic artists continue to roll into this colorfully decorated eatery. And speaking of rolls, Bob San offers a unique selection of maki as well as sashimi, tempura and entrees. Chef's specialties include the seared tuna (with honey miso dressing), chili spiced scallop and fresh salmon sashimi jalapeno. While dining, undertones of classic and contemporary music bubble just below the buzz of table conversations to create a mellow atmosphere.
