There's nothing special about Blackies (you'll find many vintage pictures on the walls, and the booths are Formica), but the food and service make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Staffers treat customers like longtime friends, and it's evident as some loyal diners have been coming here for decades. Other than the hamburgers (which you can order with bleu cheese, or smothered with bacon and grilled onions), fans boast about the onion rings (which are as big as your head), the garbage salad and the homemade chili, which is served in a large crispy tortilla and topped with onions and cheddar cheese.
