What was once a down-and-out watering hole for old-timers is now a sleek and intimate hangout for Lakeview's young professionals. Come with friends or a significant other and settle into Bungalow's warm atmosphere that includes big, cozy booths, amber lighting and a glowing fireplace. On warm nights, sit near the large open windows and watch the area's crowds pass by. Or hang out along the refurbished 55-foot-long dark wood bar, and order from the specialty martini menu (including the house special, the Vanilla Martini), a list of more than 30 beers or the extensive wine list. A DJ spins downtempo house, jazz and rare groove on Fridays, and during the week, bartenders make their own musical selections. A jukebox is also available, and is stocked with more than 100 choices of rock, pop and soul music. Bungalow plans to offer light bites and live music by summer 2002. -- Audarshia Townsend
