Just about anything goes at this rowdy Gold Coast bar that defined wild and crazy nights in Chicago long before Coyote Ugly and Hogs and Honeys arrived on the scene. At Cactus, female patrons exchange their bras for free drinks, rock music blares constantly, and the decor screams tacky yet kitschy. The menu offers no-brainer bar food such as tacos, fajitas, chicken wings, nachos and salads. Though there's no beer on draft, Cactus features a wide variety of domestic and imported bottles, including several local brews. Most head here in the summer, as the spacious street side patio is a popular hangout for pitchers of margaritas and beer. It's also a place for serious see-and-be seen, where everybody from Gold Coast residents to tourists come to check each other out. Dress skimpy in the summer, as the sun blazes down on this block.
