They're springing up all over town: chocolate cafes and lounges. So it's no surprise that this scrumptious little sweet retreat in the West Loop opened up shop right down the street from some of Chicago's top dining destinations. The Chicago Chocolate Cafe, concepted by brothers Eric and Todd Moore, pays homage to the city's rich classic and contemporary culture. The menu includes a number of ice cream specialties (South Side Sundae, Midway Monster Sundae, The Buckingham), plus generous sandwiches, salads and soups. But it's the eye-popping array of chocolates, desserts and coffee drinks that's the true treat. The selections of turtles, truffles, fudge, fondue, cheesecake and more can make even the most dedicated chocoholic dizzy. If you get a little woozy, settle into the rich chocolate-colored (of course) leather couches up front. If you miss those prime seats, claim your space at one of the tables. A family-oriented spot, Chicago Chocolate Cafe also features kid-friendly portions, plus PB&J and grilled cheese.
