Named after legendary Chicago police superintendent Francis O'Neill, this sprawling North Side restaurant and pub is the creation of Irish musicians Brendan and Siobhan McKinney. The bar features the finest in local and regional Irish musicians, top acts direct from Ireland, and nightly drink specials. Classic items from the menu (passed down from generation to generation in the McKinney family) include the cheddar cheese and Guinness soup, Harp-battered onion wedges, chicken and mushroom pie, and McKinney's famous corned beef. The Sunday brunch includes such traditional Irish dishes as Bailey's french toast, steak and eggs, and even special selections for children under 10. Every St. Patrick's Day weekend, Chief O'Neill's pitches a tent and features music, food and other activities all day long. -- Audarshia Townsend

This Pub is like being transported to Ireland. The bar is great fun. The restaurant has some of the best food in Chicago. Visit on a Sunday afternoon to listen to and enjoy an authentic "Irish Session". If you're lucky Brendan McKinney (world class musician ) will be playing with the group.
