Cody's isn't trying to be too much more than your local corner bar. You can't help but appreciate that.The bar staff is always friendly and attentive. They serve a standard selection of imports, micro, and macrobrews. Better yet, the beer is reasonably priced. No $6 beers here.Two things that let you know management is not trying to be hip by being unfriendly: there are free bar munchies, and the bar is dog-friendly. Most of the time, the bar has a combination of free pretzels, chips and dip, and crackers. Pets are welcome. Sure, this is not the most sanitary of policies, but are you really thinking about these things when drinking Budweiser and munching pretzels?Towards the back is the beer garden. In warmer months, the shaded area is a welcome respite from the heat and crowds. It's fenced off from the street, so there is also some peace and quiet--assuming, of course, that it's not a weekend. TIP: Catch the beer garden on a weekday evening around dusk.--Patrick Delahunty
