The prime location -- directly across the street from Wrigley Field -- makes this cavernous club an instant target before and after Cubs games. Fans pack the three-level venue and soak up suds from one of three bars or chow down on pub grub, including burgers, Italian beef and chicken sandwiches. Taps range from standard domestics to Guinness and Sam Adams. During the post-Cubs season, Cubby Bear is still a main attraction, with local and national bands performing nightly on the sometimes hard-to-see stage. Video monitors are interspersed throughout to keep less aggressive fans abreast of what's happening onstage. Cubby Bear's backroom is more explicit about its sports tendencies. Pennants and posters from Chicago teams adorn every nook and cranny. -- Audarshia Townsend

What about Harrys?

Hey the Cubbie Bear is a nice place good food. However Harry's should be added to the list.

Terrible 6 months out the year

It's great before, after or even during Cubs games. There's a great energy in the place, something you have to be there to see. As for the other months out of the year (when the Cubs aren't playing), it sucks. You can't go here on Friday OR Saturday during regular weekends. How can this be the best bar in Chicago? It's only good half the time!

This is not a knock to Cubby Bear at all. They may well be at or near the top of the clubs or bars. What is a complete joke is AOL surveys are NOT done from the general AOL membership. As I have been told by them, they have a list submitted to them by their AOL representatives they choose. The only way we can have a true survey is if everyone that is an AOL member can submit what they think is the best and not select from a list provided to them. This list is a joke.
