This smallish arena seats about 11,000 screaming, raving fans of everything from the UIC Flames to Widespread Panic and their innumerable knockoffs to, of course, the Hispanic Charismatic Catholic Convention. Built in 1982 at the cost of $10 million, this huge stadium has played host to both the Yugoslavian Olympic Basketball Team and the Labatt's Hockey Heroes, as well as a phalanx of musicians, pimply valedictorians and obscure religious figures. It's an arena, so don't expect much: the concert, game, graduation, convention or weekend-long cultural event you're planning to attend will be held in a big concrete bunker with uncomfortable plastic seats, bad acoustics, and absolutely no sense of charm. -- Jorge Just
