Downtown restaurants have been trying to recreate what's been going on for years in Chinatown: the dim sum at Phoenix. Fans of the exhaustive Sunday brunch tradition wait in lines for up to two hours to get their fill of such Asian delicacies as the stuffed scallops, barbecued ribs, egg rolls, and rice and noodle dishes. Servers swing by each table with carts loaded down with each course, and all you have to do is nod yes or no. Phoenix is also open during the week, as foodies flock here for the inexpensive, traditional Chinese fare. Dim sum and dinner are served on the upper level; the Phoenix Lounge, located downstairs, is a comfortable hangout with a hip, young vibe, 20 different flavored milkshakes and a casual menu.

No credibility to this list
By sinos on 04/18/2006
If this is 4th on the list with Ben Pao and Chi Tung being first and second as some of the best Chinese restaurants in town than this list is not credible. Phoenix should be 1st or 2nd instead. Ben Pao is Americanized Chinese food and a place like Chi Tung that serves Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and other Pan-Asian cuisine also cannot be authentically Chinese and focused.

great dim sum

Love the dim sum there. I travel from Iowa to get it since there's none here. Too bad gas is so much or would go more often.
