The Best 2 B Had
Having been lucky enough to have 'found' Arun's when he was still in a basement with a BYOB policy many years ago, I've followed his much deserved success. The food, presentation and service are all incapable of improvement. OK, his location is...not exactly desireable, then again, it's not the neighborhood you're after. Sure, it's pricy and the fixed menu might not meet your precise predisposition, however, unless you've ready access to Thailand, this is the best of its kind you're going to find in this side of the Pacific. Go and enjoy.
Excellent
Service, presentation and the melding of top-notch indgredients and layers of exotic spices made dining at Arun's an evening to savor.
An added benefit is that Arun's accomodates dietary restrictions with no problem. Out of three diners in our party one was vegetarian and another cannot eat gluten (celiac's).
Sure, it's pricey but when you dine at Arun's you aren't just going out to dinner, it's fine dining.
Best Meal I've had in 3 years
When I read the bad reviews here about Arun's it almost made me change my mind as to going there. What prompted me to give it a try was all the POSITIVE reviews this place has gotten over its 20 year life. The final straw was that Arun's was written as one of the places you must go to in the New York Times Best Seller "1000 places to go before you die". I was amazed and astonished by my good experience. This place needs not be a Trotter's because I have found that it is unique and impressive in its own right. The 12 course menu was planned with obvious attention to taste and detail. In fine dining, not only should the food be pleasing to the taste buds but also to the eye. I also learned that the wine list was quite extensive and had won awards in the past couple of years although without a Somelier,, the staff could recommend accomodating wines, the manager explained to us that at Arun's wine tasting was a mandatory training tool where staff and consultants got to sample first hand the wines on the list with food menu items. The service was impeccable with servers giving us information on the course and catering to our every whim. I was very pleased and somewhat validated that my decision to eat at Arun's was the right one. I will definitely come here again, not only for the food but for the intangibles like service atmosphere and good will. Those of you who have gone to other fine dining restaurants will certainly see that even at its price point..it still is a great value. I HIGHLY recommend Arun's
