Some say that after a long night of drinking cheap domestic beer, there's nothing better than a hot dog and fries. They're wrong -- there's nothing better than a Chicago-style hot dog and fries. In fact, you don't have to be drinking at all to enjoy an authentic Chicago-style hot dog, and if you're near the intersection of Clark, Barry and Halsted, you're in luck. Clark Street Dogs is open until 3AM Sundays through Thursdays and 4AM on the weekends, perfect for hitting up after the bars let out or anytime during the day. The menu is a smorgasbord of fried food like mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chili fries and jalapeno poppers. Their Philly cheese steak with green peppers, onions and mushrooms on an Italian roll is their most popular menu item. The hot dogs are Vienna beef. Play a round of Golden Tee or old-school Centipede while you wait, or wander next door to the Clark Street Bar for another brew-ha-ha.

Good Italian Beefs and Cheese Steaks...

Bad service, and dirty everything. Gauranteed runs the next day, but after drinking all night or coming from the local bath House, it is oh so good!

Visit Back In Time
By gterry316 on 02/05/2005
I came back to visit my old neighborhood where I grew up,all the old dog stands were gone that I ate at so I tried Clark Street Dogs that was not there when I left Chicago but the dogs and fries are what I remember and what I loved the best about my neighborhood as a kid.The service and the dogs made the 700 mile trip worth it. Very fond memories of my old childhood years,Thanks.
