A casual eatery and a great little neighborhood joint, Feast has a homey feel that welcomes just about anyone who walks in the door. Veteran Chicago Chef Debbie Sharpe whips up an array of offerings with influences from around the world -- Asian to Italian to Mediterranean to Latin American. Vegetarians or meat eaters can find something to satisfy on this multicultural menu featuring soups, pastas, salads, fish and meat dishes. The food is a good value and there's always something new to try because the eclectic fusion-minded menu changes monthly. The weekend brunch is also popular here. Feast is especially fun in the summer when the outdoor patio on the side of the restaurant is open. The fence around this tented patio is wrought iron, affording diners a great vantage point from which to watch the hipster denizens of Wicker Park strolling by on Damen.

Bad service, REALLY bad food, the flank steak with mashed potatoes tasted like a rancid leather shoe. Waiter looked like he was on drugs and acted like it too. $90 for terrible food, and weak drinks. NEVER AGAIN

My husband and I walked into Feast without a reservation last night. Our conversation with the hostess went like this: "Do you have a reservation?" "No." She turned on her heel and walked to a table, actually a bar height affair with two tall stools situated in the bar area and across from an open kitchen, dropped two menus on the table and began to walk back. We took the cue and assumed we were being seated. Given the fact that noone was waiting for a table and that the non smoking area had several empty tables, we waited a moment to inquire about the possiblity of a table outside. With the practiced glare only a spoiled brat could muster, we were icely informed that there would be AT LEAST a half hour wait. NOt the most auspicious beginning to a 'Feast' so we left right after I recommended to the hostess that she "improve her demeanor". There are too many wonderful places to eat to fall victim to curt and snotty employees. Part of any good feast is a generous smile and courteous answers.
